The assignment is to create a word that doesn't have a place in a dictionary yet. This word forms the basis of a book cover.

Inspired by my illustration de buurman I created the word partarence, a merger between the two french words: part (partly) and apparence (visibility). It describes the case of beeing able to only see a certain part of an object because there is another one in the way.

These are three of the proposals, 'written' by the fictional author Emma Laval.

I decided to play further with a pure typographic manner of depicting the word, as in the last proposal. The second step is to make that a poster.
